The Atmospheric Divide: The canvas is dominated by a sharp split between the heavy, bruised indigo sky and a saturated, gold-washed horizon. This contrast functions as a natural light-trap, pulling whatever brightness exists in the room toward the centre of the work and projecting a permanent 'magic hour' glow into the space.

Liquid Staccato: Jon has worked into the lower half of the frame with a series of sharp, horizontal impasto strokes. These raised ridges of white and pale blue catch the natural shadows of the room, mimicking the flicker of a tidal river. It is a tactile record of motion that ensures the large-scale surface never feels static or flat against the masonry.
