Sculptural Relief: Frank treats the sky not as vapour, but as a tangible, physical surface. The upper half of the canvas is carved from thick, tactile sweeps of his palette knife, leaving raised ridges of white, lavender, and grey that cast three-dimensional shadows that shift and change with the light.

Ochre Promenade: The lower right corner is dominated by the Thames Path that runs in front of Lambeth Palace, rendered in heavy, structured layers of deep ochre and raw amber. This broad walkway captures the low-angled evening sun, establishing a structural platform that weights the entire composition and dictates the spatial flow across the canvas.

Gothic Fracture: The Palace of Westminster is built through staccato, vertical knife marks rather than traditional line work. Frank layers raw terracotta, deep violet, and salmon tones into dense columns, allowing the physical thickness of the oil paint to mimic the complex ornamentation of the historic facade.
