A Telescopic Perspective: Maykel transports the viewer directly onto the warm, dusty streets of Havana, using the converging lines of the balconies, overhead wires, and curb to drive the eye toward the distant, sun-bleached dome of El Capitolio. His composition sets up a vast scale, balancing the heavy verticality of the historic buildings against a hazy, sepia sky.

Chrome and Shadow: The foreground is anchored by the solid, heavy mass of the vintage sedan. Maykel uses crisp, high-contrast strokes of pale cream and silver  to capture the harsh sunlight glancing off the chrome bumper and headlight housing, contrasting against the deep black pool of shadow cast beneath the chassis.
